The concept behind this image came from a request from my older brother. He asked me to draw him an angel with bald head kneeling. I took a crack at it, and one of the things of note was that I really needed to work on anatomy. I think this is an improvement over my first attempt at this image, but I know there are things I still need to improve. Good thing this is a work in progress, and I am still in the sketching stages. If you have never checked out their work, or their tutorials I highly recommend them. They not only go through their methods of creating various works of art, but they give a lot of information on ways to do things in Photoshop and Painter that I didn’t know how to do before. The videos that have helped me the most so far are those of Jason Chan and Nox. I have also picked up videos from Zhang Lu and Jason Manley, Andrew Jones (Android), Coro, Dan Dos Santos, and Mike Bierek, but I have learned the most from Jason and Nox so far.

Nonetheless, I am looking forward to using what I have learned in my work in the near future and getting some posts up to showcase what I have learned. Until then, get over to ConceptArt.org and pick up some of the tutorials and learn some things like I have. Cheers!

This is a picture of a black angel that my brother asked me to draw awhile ago, let’s see if he likes it. If he does, I will get into the coloring processing. I used an image out of my Anatomy for the Artist book to make sure I got the body right, everything else we from my sick mind.

Here is one colored version of it, I am still not sure what to do with the background, so I may make some changes before this is finished. Cheers!

Here is a picture that I worked on and finished today. This is my version of Head Captain Yamamoto. I did this using a method that I learned from a friend a week or so ago, and I have fallen in love with the method. I think this picture turned out pretty well and I have shown some progress from the first image I did of Kenpachi.

I used a reference from my Anatomy for the Artist for the muscles, and I looked at one of my mangas to try to make sure I got his outfit and scars correct.

Here is my latest picture that I wanted to complete before going to see the Watchmen today. I used the beautiful, and well equipped Bianca Beauchamp as a reference. While I didn’t want my picture to look like her, I did plan to keep her breasts just as big, if not bigger, and keep the red hair. Hope you enjoy!

Here is another post, which is a revisit of my last post. I decided to take some time and give her a face, so here it is. This is still using Willa Ford as a reference.

Here is my post for this evening. I am really having a lot of fun with this style of drawing. I start off with a quick blue line figure sketch on one layer, then I begin painting until I am complete on another. Get rid of the blue line layer, flatten image, and post.

For this one, I used Willa Ford as a reference again, clearly still not trying to make it look anything like her.

Here is my first all digital work. I used a picture of Willa Ford as a reference, but at no point did I have any intention of trying to make this character look like her. My goal was to use a photo reference to help with my proportions of the female figure, in an effort to get better at drawing women.

Nonetheless, I like how this one turned out. I believe I am beginning to improve on my work, and I am looking forward to drawing more. Cheers!

So since my girlfriend tells me that my women pictures suck, I obviously need to work on drawing women. Since I am also working on staying all digital, I need to learn to sketch all on my computer as well. Here is my first attempt to get better at both.

Here is an update of the Green Lantern I was playing around with the other day. I have found out that I need to make sure the proof colors set up for Photoshop is set for monitor RGB instead of CMYK. Unfortunately, I didn’t find that until I was done playing around with this image. Live and learn…
